We once again continued our partnership with NHS Bournemouth and Poole, and produced the 'Moving on from Hospital' film that communicated the issues around Learning Disabled service users who were being relocated to smaller residential units as a single older campus hospital location was to be closed. We undertook interviews with carers, family members and health care staff about the change and reactions to it. Matt Dowson undertook all the location filming on DVCAM using our Sony DSR450, with editor Dave Burnham bringing the story together with the assistance of Final Cut Pro.

Our client had the following comments to make on our contribution to this and other projects:
“At NHS Bournemouth and Poole we have used Dowson Communications for a number of corporate short films, including filming in people’s own homes; filming a sign language translation of web content; grabbing outdoor shots from moving cars; and interviewing 25 members of staff from across the organisation for the 60th birthday of the NHS.
“I have been able to particularly rely on the sensitivity of the film team to the topics that we have covered, including filming of those with a learning disability and going in to the homes of people with terminal illnesses. The crew behaved with the greatest respect for the individuals, their carers and the environment, whilst still producing the desired high quality product.
“I have no hesitation in recommending Dowson Communications, who have always delivered to schedule, often turning projects around in very short notice.”
